High School Administration

Dr. Sam Ahmed, Principal
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! We cannot wait to welcome our students back as we prepare for another exciting school year filled with meaningful learning opportunities and experiences. This is always an exciting time for us as we look forward to seeing our students in our hallways and classrooms once again.
Over the summer, our dedicated staff have worked tirelessly to complete numerous upgrades and carry out essential maintenance throughout the building. I want to take a moment to recognize the exceptional efforts of our custodial team, office staff, aides, teachers, and administrators.
Their hard work and collaboration were instrumental in preparing our classrooms, hallways, and instructional plans to ensure a smooth and successful start to the new school year. The level of preparation required, along with the coordination and flexibility, is are true testament to our team's dedication, and we are fortunate to have such a committed team.
Over the summer, we began several important construction projects, all of which are progressing well and are expected to be completed in the near future.
These projects include:
- A new Visitors Center at the High School
- Installation of turf on the football field
- Longwood’s cutting-edge Career and Technical Education (CTE) classrooms
As a result of the ongoing construction, we have implemented a revised drop-off and pick-up procedure. Detailed information regarding the new procedures will be shared separately with all parents and students.
Our building and district goals remain within the following four areas:
- Strong Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Practices
- Empowered Students, Staff, and School Community
- Collaborative School and Community Partnerships
- Efficient and Effective Operations
Students always perform better when there is a collaborative partnership between parents and the school. Please reach out to your child’s teacher, counselor, or administrator whenever you have questions or concerns.
Please note that the high school utilizes the PowerSchool Parent Portal to provide timely information to parents regarding their child’s attendance record, progress reports, and quarterly grades. It is a valuable resource, and we strongly recommend that you access the portal regularly. The parent portal and other documents, including the Code of Conduct, can be easily accessed through the District’s homepage at https://www.longwood.k12.ny.us.
In addition, for direct communication with the school, please consider joining Longwood’s Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA). The PTSA works tirelessly to support the High School’s goals of educational success for all students through fostering strong parent, family, and community involvement.
We encourage all students to utilize our transportation system provided by the district. If there is ever a need to drop your child off to our campus, please be sure to follow our student drop-off procedure and traffic pattern.
As always, your child’s education, safety, and wellness are our top priority. We believe in our students!
Sincerely,
Sam Ahmed, Ed.D., Principal
