We are excited to announce that beginning March 15, parents and guardians will be able to utilize the WheresTheBus application to help securely track the arrival of their student's bus. This new app provides an enhanced, secure and convenient, school bus experience that delivers real-time tracking of bus location, via email and push notification alerts, in order to assist our families in best managing their daily school bus experience.
Three Longwood High School teachers, Ms. Guisti, Mr. Tapia, and Mr. Ross (not in photo), have been recognized by the Harvard Club of Long Island for their contributions to our students, schools, and community. Every year since the program's inception in 2005, current Harvard undergraduates from Long Island have nominated secondary-level educators who have made the most significant difference in their lives.
Close to 200 Longwood High School students recently participated in the Second Annual Hack-a-Thon! The innovative computer science programming event encourages students to work collaboratively while competing in two unique coding challenges to solve challenging tasks, including programming a T1 Innovator Rover.
Congratulations to the varsity girls and boys' bowling teams for sweeping the Section XI County Championships recently, marking back-to-back County Championships for the girls' bowling program since winning their first county title in 1989.
This past Saturday, we were proud to welcome close to 400 public education leaders, representing almost three-quarters of the school districts from Suffolk County, to advocate for our students, schools, and communities at the Longwood Legislative Breakfast.

In honor and observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the District's Community Connections Committee hosted a Unity Walk on Saturday, January 14, focusing on service learning, civil rights, and solidarity!

Before the start of the November 10 meeting, the Board of Education and Central Administration recognized and celebrated 33 newly-tenured teachers.
Registration for High School winter sports is now open. Student-athletes must register and be clear by the nurse's office to participate in tryouts on Monday, November 14, 2022.
